At Engadine Cycles we pride ourselves on delivering a standard geared bicycle service that goes above and beyond our competitors at this price. Here's what our service includes:

Thoroughly clean the bicycle

Lubricate all gear and brake cables, ensuring free movement. If damaged, we'll replace cables at an extra cost

Adjust gears, check derailleur hanger alignment, and straighten if necessary. We'll also check for chain stretch, and if it's badly worn, we'll report this to the customer. Straighten buckled or bent teeth on chainrings, and lubricate the chain with either oil-based or wax-based lube

Adjust brakes and check brake pad wear. If needed, we'll replace them at an extra cost. For disc brakes, we'll align calipers and straighten minor buckles in disc rotors. We'll also check brake feel and bleed the brake if necessary. To ensure maximum stopping power, we'll clean rims or rotors with brake cleaner

Check wheels for buckles and loose spokes. If necessary, we'll true minor buckles. Severe buckles or broken spokes will incur an extra cost

Check hubs for free play or being over tightened, and adjust if necessary. We'll also check that cones are locked up tight and that cassette sprockets are tight

Check bottom bracket bearings for free play and tighten if needed. We'll check cranks are at the correct tension, and if we find that cranks or the bottom bracket are noisy or creaky during the test ride, we'll remove and grease the bottom bracket at no extra cost

Check headset for free play and adjust if necessary

Check tyres are at the correct inflation and check for wear or damage

Perform a general check and tension on all bolts and screws

Lubricate all pivots on full suspension bikes and check correct tension. Inflate shocks

Test ride the bike under load, checking for any noises and ensuring that brakes and gears work correctly

If we come across anything that will incur an extra cost, we'll call the customer beforehand, unless it's only a minor issue. Typically, the bike will be ready on the next working day, but during busy periods, it may take longer.
